How to Unlock BlackBerry Curve 8520 with Unlock Code

The BlackBerry Curve 8520, code-named the Gemini is the newer version to the Curve 8900. This was the first phone to come out with the whole trackpad and helped revolutionize BlackBerry smart phones. To unlock BlackBerry Curve 8520 all you need is any SIM card, the phone itself and a BlackBerry Curve 8520 unlock code. This simple procedure will get you started. There are two methods to unlock BlackBerry Curve 8520.

The first is quite simple. All you need to do is insert an unaccepted SIM card into your BlackBerry Curve 8520 and when the phone asks you if you want to unlock it, just input the code and you it will be unlocked instantly!

The method that we recommend is the following so you can understand exactly what step and stage you are at in the unlocking process.

  • Go to options
  • Then to advanced options
  • Finally to SIM card
  • Here you need to type in MEPD to get the personalization menu to appear before you.  If the network says active, it is locked. If it says that it is disabled, then you know that your phone is already unlocked
  • If your phone says Active beside the Network category, type in MEP[alt]2.  You will be prompted to enter in your unlock code. If it says 0 Left, then it means that your phone is permanently locked to its original network carrier.
  • If it says “10 Left” or something greater than 0 left, then enter in BlackBerry Curve 8520 unlock code
  • Press enter and you will receive a message that says “Code Accepted”.
After entering in your code successfully, you will notice that the Network changes from Active to Disabled. This means that you were able to successfully unlock BlackBerry Curve 8520.
Congratulations! If you followed all of those steps above, you are now a proud owner of an unlocked BlackBerry Curve 8520!
