How to unlock BlackBerry Tour 9630 with unlock code

Believe it or not, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is still one of the most popular phones that people are unlocking these days. The unlocking instructions are very similar to other BlackBerry smart phones, however, when unlocking the Tour 9630, there is an extra step that is required in order to activate your GSM mode. We’ll get into that a bit later. As for the unlocking process, it’s a very straightforward one. The two things that you’ll need is a SIM card as well as a BlackBerry Tour unlock code which can be purchased from our unlocking store.

How to unlock BlackBerry Tour 9630 (Instructions)

1.) Insert a SIM card into the phone. We prefer to use one that is not accepted meaning one that is not from the carrier that the phone is from.
2.) Power on the phone
3.) Go to options
4.) Go to advanced options
5.) Go to the SIM card menu.
6.) Here, you’ll need to type in the letters MEPD. Try to type them in in capital letters so you can see the personalization menu. In this video, we were able to actually skip right to the next and most important step.
7.) After you have typed MEPD, you want to type MEP[alt]2. This will bring up the menu that says “Enter Network MEP Code (# Left)”. The number represents the number of attempts that you have remaining to unlock BlackBerry Tour 9630. If it says 0 Left, please do not purchase an unlock code because it will not work in your phone. If you see after typing MEPD, it says that the network is either Disabled or Inactive, then it means that your phone is already unlocked and you can follow the next few steps to get your GSM SIM card working in your phone.
8.) Enter in the unlock code and press enter after completing your entry.
9.) You will receive a message that says “Code Accepted”. Also, if you were able to get the personalization menu up, you’ll notice how the Network changes from Active to Inactive or Disabled.  This is a good sign. It means your phone is now network unlocked.
10.) If you have a GSM SIM card inside such as a Rogers, Fido, AT&T or T-mobile SIM, proceed and follow these last steps to activate GSM mode on the CDMA world phone the Tour 9630.
11.) Go to Manage Connections
12.) Go to Mobile Network Options
13.) Beside Network Technology, you must change this to GSM/UMTS.
14.) You should also change the Network mode to 2G.

That’s all there is to unlocking the BlackBerry Tour 9630. Please make sure that your phone is not hard locked or already unlocked prior to purchasing the code from our unlock store. If you need your unlock code for BlackBerry Tour, then you can go ahead and proceed to our unlocking store where we are now unlocking over 3000 different phones from various brands.
