Unboxing the BlackBerry Torch 9860

We’ve gone ahead and created another unboxing video for you. This is new BlackBerry Torch 9860 (GSM/HSPA) version of the phone. The CDMA World version is modeled as the 9850 and is currently available through Sprint and would not be a surprise if it came through to some of the other CDMA carriers in the United States such as Verizon, Alltel etc. This phone is definitely a new style of phone from RIM’s traditional phones. It isn’t even worth comparing to the Storm series since the touch screen is much more like an iPhone than the storm’s springboard touch screens.

Without further adieu, here’s what you can expect to find in the box of a BlackBerry Torch 9860. Nothing particularly fancy besides the phone itself.

  • BlackBerry manuals
  • Introduction to the device documents
  • BlackBerry wall adapter
  • Micro USB Cable
  • 3.5 mm wired headphones
  • Lithium ion battery
Just like the 9360, there is no case included in this. As expected, we have safe tested the whole unlocking process to unlock BlackBerry Torch 9860 and it falls under the same instructions as unlocking the BlackBerry Curve 9360 and the BlackBerry Bold 9900. You can expect to see the same things in the box if you have a CDMA world version of the phone. If you’re a Sprint Torch 9850 owner, feel free to comment if it’s different with the Sprint version of the phone.
We’ll post an unlocking video for you on how to unlock the BlackBerry Torch 9860 tomorrow morning!
